Genesee FAQ

Genesee Nutrition - Best Protein Bars Ever!

What makes Genesee Nutrition products different from other brands?

We prioritize clean, simple ingredients without artificial additives or preservatives. Each product is crafted to not only taste great but also to provide essential nutrients that fuel your body naturally. We also emphasize transparency in labeling so you know exactly what you’re consuming. Our bars contain 20 grams of protein per bar without the chalky aftertaste that most protein bars contain.

Are your products organic and non-GMO?

Yes, we strive to source organic and non-GMO ingredients whenever possible, ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality and purity.

Are your products gluten free?

Yes, both bars are gluten free.

Are your bars dairy free?

No, our bars are not technically dairy free. Majority of the protein is whey-isolate though so it is mostly lactose free. There is a small percentage (less than 5% of the total ingredients) that has whey concentrate though. If you are super sensitive to lactose then these might not be the best choice for you but we have had many customers state that although they are dairy free that these bars do not upset them. Error on the side of caution if you are sensitive to dairy.

Are your bars nut-free?

No. Our Peanut Butter Cup bars contain peanuts. Our Cookies ‘n’ Cream bars contain cashews and macadamia nuts.

Are your bars meal replacements?

No, our bars are not designed to be meal replacements. While individual calorie needs vary from person to person, our bars contain 220-230 calories and 20 grams of protein, making them a great snack option. They provide a convenient source of nutrition to keep you going throughout the day, but they don’t contain enough calories or nutrients to replace a full meal.

Why is protein important?

Protein is essential for building and repairing tissues, including muscles, skin, and organs. It plays a critical role in enzyme and hormone production, immune function, and overall energy. Whether you’re active or simply going about daily life, getting enough protein helps maintain muscle mass, supports recovery after exercise, and keeps you feeling fuller for longer, making it a key nutrient for overall health and wellness.

Is whey protein a good source of protein?

Yes, whey protein is an excellent source of protein. It’s a complete protein, meaning it contains all nine essential amino acids that your body needs for muscle repair, immune function, and overall health. Whey is also highly digestible and quickly absorbed by the body, making it an ideal option for post-workout recovery or as a convenient way to meet your daily protein needs.
